UMACS Conference 2008 - Registration

General registration, lodging, and meal information

Registration:

The general registration fee is $100 and applies to all attendees who are not full-time students or members of the Luther College community. Deadline for registration is April 7th, 2008.

Lodging:

Lodging is NOT included in registration costs. Rooms have been reserved at the Heartland Inn (563-382-2269), Bluffs Inn (563-382-8600) and Country Inn (563-382-9646) . Rooms will be released on March 18, so be sure to reserve your room before that date.

Food:

Two meals are included in the registration cost: Friday evening dinner and Saturday lunch. For the meals that aren’t included, there is a cyber café on campus, as well as a cafeteria, and there are multiple restaurants within 2-3 miles of campus.

Ride Sharing:

We are trying to coordinate as many ride shares as possible, to reduce overall driving. If you want to carpool with someone else, or have a spot (or3!) open in your car, please e-mail Maren at stumma01@luther.edu with:

Room Sharing:

Because of limited rooms, and to be more energy and cost efficient, please try to share an extra bed in your room with someone. If you are willing to share a room, let the hotel know when you are reserving a room and you will be put on a list. For more information please contact Maren at stumma01@luther.edu.

Student registration, lodging, and meal information

Registration:

The cost for registration is $20 for full-time students at any college or university. Deadline for registration is April 7th, 2008.

Transportation:

Luther will be trying as much as possible to coordinate efficient student transportation to the conference from out-of-town. If transportation will be an issue for you, please contact Megan Selvig at umacs@luther.edu for assistance.

Lodging for students will be provided for free on Luther’s campus in rooms of residence halls with hosting students. This will be assumed as a part of any student registration, so please let us know if you are not staying on-campus.

Luther College Attendees

Registration:

For faculty/staff, registration is free (you must still register) but meals are NOT included.

For students, registration is $10, or free if you host a visiting student in your room. Friday dinner is not included; Saturday lunch is in the cafeteria.

All Luther attendees must register even if no fee is due.

Food:

Friday dinner, in Peace Dining Room, is $20/person. Saturday lunch, in the cafeteria, is $7.75 (you must sign up for the meals with your registration).

Where is Luther College?

Luther College is in the small city of Decorah. Decorah is in the northeast corner of Iowa. It is nearly equidistant from Minneapolis and Des Moines- about 150 miles from each city.

From the Twin Cities: Find your way to US Hwy 52, which begins right where 35E and 94 converge. Follow 52 all the way to Decorah, and follow the signs into Luther’s campus.

From Des Moines: Drive north on I-35. Turn east on Hwy 9 and follow until just outside Decorah. Turn north on Hwy 52 and follow Luther College signs into campus.
